Above is a multi res image of Gandang Gompa. Use the rightmost tool for full screen view. Most items here have a Full Screen option and it is definately the best way to see them.

This was a trip with Project Himalaya in June 2011. We started in Kathmandu and drove for 3 days to Lhasa where we spent a few days looking around, mainly at the Gompas. We then drove west to the Kingdom of Guge. Next it was the Kailash Kora followed by the Saga Dawa festival. Finally we drove south for a day to start the trek through western Napal to finish at Simikot from where we were eventually flown out by helicopter.

A slide show of the whole trip can be seen by clicking the button. A short video can be accessed by the button on the right.

Multi res images.

There are two pages of multi res images as well as the one above. These are tiled images where the more you zoom in the more detail is downloaded and you can pan around.

The mountain on the right links to computer generated landscapes and maps of the area showing our route taken from my GPS. There are 360 deg panoramas and fly through animations.
