All these photos were taken on a World Expeditions trek to The Karokoram in August 2001. We met in Lahore, a city with much of interest, then flew to Islamabad, where we had a tour of the city. Then it was by bus for two days to Skardu and the famous K2 Motel. From here it was a day in a jeep to Tongol where the walking started. Our route took us up the Braldu Valley to Piaju and the start of the Baltoro Glacier. From here it was up the glacier to Concordia, which was as far as I got due to a bad cold. Most of the group went over the Gondogoro La and out via Hushe. It is a lasting regret that I never did this section Click the images below for slide show |
